The Annual KELDA JEAN Report for 2020

Hello once again!

Here's the post you've been waiting for!  It's been another year since my last post to you, and I've had another birthday.  I'm a dozen years old!  I thought I should get a dozen snacks for it, but Grandma had other things in mind.

Let's back up to the middle of 2019.  Remember last year?

A year ago I was at Camp Arroyo.  If you don't remember, it's a place where kids with disabilities and life-threatening diseases (and their families) can go to enjoy nature and each other's company.  Am I part of the nature or part of the company?  Both, I think!  I really like these kids.

Last year was when we could have people come over any time they wanted to.  Here are my friends Judy and Ted, who have a real appreciation of dogs....

In the fall comes the very important tradition of getting pictures of Grandma and me for our Christmas card!  How's this?  Our friend Tonya took it at Oak Hill Park (just as it was beginning to rain).  I like it a lot.  I love Grandma.  She's been so good to me all these years!

Another tradition is helping St. Nick!  He's so overworked, I figure he needs all the help he can get.

So then we had Christmas, and Pappa Jack came over, as he always does - bringing presents for the kitties, and for me.  Isn't it great to have friends?

We celebrated Christmas Day in Carmel, California, with Aunt Lori.  We went to the Cypress Inn, where dogs are always welcome.  It was owned by that fantastic dog-lover (not to mention fantastic singer and actor), Doris Day!

In February, of course, was the Super Bowl, and it was a very special one.  In this photo, I'm at a friend's house watching it on television.  Grandma went to Orlando to cheer for the Forty-Niners, and all I got to show for it was this scarf.  It's a dog's life (sigh)....

Before the virus and the quarantine spoiled my fun, I used to see a lot of friends.  This is one of them.  Her name is Lynn, and she's a BIG CCI supporter!  Yay, Lynn!  (We look as it we were telling each other secrets just before the picture was taken.  Were we?  I'll never tell.)

I still let children read to me at the Danville Library.  What books have you been reading?  Would you like to read them to me?  Come to the Danville Library and persuade the people that you're a kid!

Back at home....  I just love my kitty sisters.  This is Muffin.  Isn't she gorgeous?

And here's Kimmi, known for her loving nature and her VERY scratchy tongue...

And here's Belle,  She lived outside because... she had never ever been indoors.  Her former family abandoned her when they moved!  But she moved to our yard, and Grandma and I took care of her.  We would sit with her during our Happy Hour.  I'm sorry to say she moved to kitty heaven in March.  I miss her a lot.

In early Spring, there's St. Patrick's Day!  It's the one day of the year I get to be an Irish dog.  The rest of the year I'm partly Canadian, I guess (Labrador?).   My new Lamb Chop toy and I are striking the same pose.  See the cupcake in front of us?

Easter came, and with it came quarantine.  But nothing stops Easter!  Eggs, anybody?

And now, the event you've all been waiting for!  Because we had to shelter in place, we moved the festivities from the usual kitchen deck so that we could have a social-distance party....

Were there going to be any party guests, or would the yucky virus scare them away?  I was worried!  You don't have a twelfth birthday every day, you know....

But Grandma had decorated a table beautifully, as she always does.  I'd learn to do it myself, but it's harder when you have paws.

And my friend Leslie came!  She takes care of me when Grandma is away.

Grandma and I like to have our picture taken..  Aren't we cute together?  This present smells good.  It's from Deb and Alexa, who couldn't come this year.  We missed them.

Here's my BIG birthday gift from Grandma!  Bow-WOW!

Pappa Jack came, of course - with a present!

And here are gifts I received from other friends.  Excuse me for showing off (sorry/not sorry).

What a party!  What a birthday!  Being TWELVE is a wonderful thing!  WOOF!

Now....  when will this Covid thing be over?  I'm getting bored again!
